Organic Matcha Tea: Is it worth the extra price?
Compartir
Matcha tea has become increasingly popular around the world due to its many health benefits, including weight loss, energy, and focus, among others.
However, as interest in matcha powder has increased, so has the variety of options on the market, such as the one we are going to discuss below.
What is organic matcha tea like?
Organic matcha tea is grown without the use of pesticides or chemical fertilizers, which means it is a healthier and more environmentally friendly option than non-organic matcha tea. It has the peculiarity that it is usually more expensive than conventional matcha tea, so you may wonder if it is worth paying a higher amount for it.
In terms of quality, organic matcha powder is considered to be quite superior to other options. This is because organic cultivation creates a more balanced and healthy growing environment for the tea leaves, which in turn improves the flavor and quality of this Japanese-derived beverage. Plus, because it's grown without the use of synthetic chemicals, organic matcha tea contains fewer toxins and pesticide residues.
The most controversial part is that this product is more expensive, basically because the cultivation and production process, completely handmade, is more expensive and this is reflected in its retail price. I also tell you: if they try to sell you very, very cheap matcha tea, be wary! Proven quality is never cheap. One trick is to look at the color of the tea: it has to be deep green. If the color is brown or brownish, it is not good.
For some people, price may not be an issue. If you value quality, sustainability, and health, organic matcha tea may be the best option for you. Additionally, some studies have shown that organic foods are more nutritious than their non-organic counterparts. On the other hand, if price is a concern for you, I would recommend going for the premium matcha tea, which is milder and more affordable than Japanese. You can rest assured that it is still an important nutrient source and will provide you with nearly all of the health benefits of the highest quality matcha tea.
So, you know, the choice between organic and non-organic matcha tea will depend on your priorities and budget . If you value the quality of craftsmanship, tradition and exquisite treatment of tea leaves, it will definitely be worth paying a little more. If you're looking for a more affordable option, premium matcha tea is still a great option.
I always recommend ceremonial matcha tea in all my videos (which you can see on my TikTok channel ), but I am fully aware that not everyone can afford the cost of a top product. That's why I have no problem recommending cheaper teas, like the one from Mercadona, for example, which aren't that good but can work for you.
Also, if you take a look at my store , you will see that there are flavored matcha teas (blueberry, vanilla, cocoa, etc.) , a culinary grade matcha tea (highly recommended for confectionery and recipes in general) and, soon, new infusions that They will delight lovers of quality, natural flavor and the beneficial properties of medicinal plants.
